Rewatching Moonlight agains. so yeah.

Moonlight Resonance - Episode 1

Finally the much awaited series, Moonlight Resonance, has started airing and the first episode is interesting. We are slowly introduced to the major characters and the Kam and Chung family background.

Hor Ma and Kam Tai Jo were a couple who own a mooncake bakery and has 6 children, Ka, Ho, Yuet, Yuen, Hing and Chung. They were once a happy family until Tai Jo had an extra-marital affair with one of their workers, Yan Hong. This caused Tai Jo to divorce Hor Ma and the children were separated. Hor Ma wanted to take care of all her children but Tai Jo was also adamant that the children followed him. They couldn't agree and the decision was left to the Family Court. Tai Jo end up with custody of their 3 sons, Ka, Yuen and Chung while Ho Ma was given the custody of Ho, their second son and Yuet and Hing, their 2 daughters. Yuet is not their biological daughter, she was adopted and Hing is mute.

Lai, Tai Jo's mother was upset that they have only custody of children, and moreover, her favourite grandson, Ho, was to follow Hor Ma. She scolded Hor Ma outside the courthouse and blamed Hor Ma for the death of her younger son (details of it was not yet revealed).

The show then moved back to the present. Hor Ma's family was at the airport to welcome someone back and the person turned out to be Sa Yee, Hor Ma's sister who once lived in Portugal.

Sa Yee was appalled when she realised that Hor Ma did not get any alimony from Tai Jo and she was shocked that Tai Jo's side of the family has done so well with their business all over Hong Kong. She wants Hor Ma to ask for some compensation from Tai Jo.

We also learned that Yan Hong was an immigrant that came to work in Hor Ma's bakery with her husband, Keong. They have a daughter named Sum. Soon after settling down, Keong had an affair and left Yan Hong. Hor Ma took pity on her and let her continue working with them even after she made a mistake. She then started an affair with Tai Jo. Hor Ma had already knew of their affair but she pretended not to know for the sake of her children. Yan Hong pressured Tai Jo to divorce Hor Ma but he couldn't do it. So, Yan Hong took matters into her own hands and demand for a divorce.

The children were a close bunch, particularly Ho and Sum. They were childhood sweethearts and have to be separated in these circumstances. It's heart-wrenching to see these two part and say their goodbyes.

Comments : such a sad opening...yet i felt so bad for Chau and Ho. So sad...but yeah. The kids had to be broken up and all..such a sad scene and bad influence for the kids..but yeah. Hung Yee so evil man. even Joe bao so 'yun sum' to see the kids broken up...><....I think the kids shouldnt have deserved that. but yeah.
